Is Madagascar harder to travel than Kenya or Botswana?
Often yes — fewer flight frequencies, more fragile domestic connections, heat in the south, and longer days when charters slip. We budget buffer and say so up front.
Why are the sample prices so high for seven or ten days?
Internal air and private-reserve camps dominate the bill. Geology charter weeks are air-heavy by design. There is no honest low-teens Quiet African Luxury Madagascar on this rail.
Mandrare or Anjajavy if I can only pick one?
Mandrare for classic spiny-forest lemurs and baobab gallery; Anjajavy for coast + dry forest intimacy. Ideal is both if nights allow.
Can I do Tsingy if I have moderate fitness?
Petit Tsingy routes are more accessible; Grand Tsingy can involve harness sections. We match route to traveler — ego is a poor guide here.
Will this replace a Big Five safari?
No. Lemurs and limestone are a different product from lion country. Combine the two if you want both, and pressure-test the flights. The bush countries are on safari destinations.
