2. Scope

This Privacy Policy covers personal information when you:

• Visit safariawaits.com or related Safari Awaits pages;
• Submit a match or planning inquiry (including /get-matched);
• Subscribe to email updates;
• Communicate with us by email; or
• Interact with cookies, analytics, or similar technologies on our site.

Our Affiliate & Commercial Disclosure (including ATI / Outside Agents booking-rail wording) explains how we may be compensated when you book through partners. This Privacy Policy covers personal data; that page covers commercial relationships.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you provide

Depending on how you use the site, you may provide:

• Contact details: name, email address, phone number, country / city of residence or preferred contact location;
• Match-form / lead details: destinations of interest, travel dates or months, trip length, budget range, party size (adults/children), celebration context, mobility / dietary / accessibility notes, safari style preferences, and free-text brief;
• Communications: messages you send us, and related correspondence;
• Marketing preferences: newsletter signup and unsubscribe choices.

Please do not submit sensitive information we do not need (for example, government ID numbers, payment card numbers, or detailed medical records) through website forms. If a supplier later needs health or passport details to book travel, that collection happens under their process and privacy notice.

3.2 Information collected automatically

When you browse the site, we and our providers may automatically collect:

• Device and browser type, OS, language;
• IP address and approximate location (for example, country / city level);
• Pages viewed, referring / exit pages, timestamps, and interaction data;
• Cookie and similar identifiers (see Cookies & analytics).

3.3 Information from partners

If you book or request a quote through a matched partner (including arrangements fulfilled via our Outside Agents / African Travel Inc. booking rail where applicable), we may receive limited status information needed for matching follow-up and commission reconciliation (for example, that a quote was issued or a booking confirmed). Partners process traveler booking data under their own policies.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

• Operate, secure, and improve the website and editorial tools;
• Evaluate trip fit and match / introduce you to safari operators, advisors, or booking partners;
• Respond to inquiries and provide service communications related to your request;
• Send newsletters or marketing emails if you opt in (you can unsubscribe anytime);
• Measure site performance with analytics (including Google Analytics 4 where enabled);
• Reconcile referral / advisor commissions when a matched inquiry leads to a booking;
• Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect RM Ventures LLC, our users, and partners;
• Create aggregated or de-identified insights that no longer identify you.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in a way intended to sell your identity to data brokers. If that ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide required opt-out mechanisms.

5. How we share information

We may share personal information with:

• Matched safari partners / advisors — When you request a match or ask us to proceed, we share relevant trip parameters and contact details with selected vetted partners so they can respond. We aim for fit-based routing rather than blasting your inquiry to many competing sellers at once.
• Booking-rail / host-agency partners — Where bookings are fulfilled through our host-agency relationship (Outside Agents with African Travel Inc. as a primary Africa product rail), necessary information may be processed on that professional agency stack. See our Affiliate & Commercial Disclosure.
• Service providers — Hosting, email delivery (including Resend), CRM / form tooling, analytics (GA4), security (including Cloudflare Turnstile when configured), and similar processors who act on our instructions.
• Legal / safety — When required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
• Business transfers — In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality.

6. Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies that may include:

• Essential cookies — required for security, load balancing, form function, and basic site operation;
• Analytics cookies — including Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic, popular content, and site performance. Where enabled, IP anonymization is on;
• Preference cookies — remembering limited settings where offered.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect site features. Blocking analytics cookies will not prevent you from reading guides or submitting a match request. For Google Analytics, Google may process data per its policies.

We do not currently require you to create an account to browse guides. If we add login or advertising cookies later, we will update this Policy.

7. Payments & traveler funds

Safari Awaits / RM Ventures LLC does not take custody of your safari land payments, lodge deposits, or airfare funds through this website as part of the standard matching model. You contract and pay the relevant operator, advisor, or booking partner under their terms.

If we ever charge a separate, disclosed planning / concierge fee, that fee (if collected) would be identified up front and handled only on an approved payment path. Any such fee is separate from supplier trip funds.

8. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including:

• Active matching and follow-up;
• Legitimate business records (for example, commission reconciliation, dispute handling);
• Legal compliance and security.

Inquiry records that do not become bookings are typically archived or deleted within a reasonable period (often up to about two years unless a longer period is required). You may request deletion subject to legal exceptions.

9. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS/TLS for data in transit and access controls on systems that store inquiry data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights & choices

All users

• Access / correction of information we hold about you;
• Deletion of inquiry or marketing data (subject to legal retention needs);
• Opt out of marketing emails via unsubscribe links or by emailing us;
• Cookie controls via your browser.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA-style rights)

If you are a California resident, you may have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose;
• Request deletion or correction;
• Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information if we engage in activities that meet those definitions under California law;
• Non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

To exercise rights: email rom@illuminateavenue.com with the subject line “Privacy Request,” describe the request, and provide enough information for us to verify you are the person making it. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

We do not knowingly sell personal information. If our practices change, we will provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism as required.

International visitors

If you access the site from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States (and other countries where our providers operate), which may have different data-protection rules than your home country. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms used by our providers.

11. Children

Safari Awaits is aimed at adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (or under 13 where that is the applicable standard) through our match forms. If you believe a child submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-party sites

Guides and disclosures may link to third-party sites (operators, partners, tools). Their privacy practices are their own. Review their policies before submitting data to them.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page; continued use of the site after posting means you accept the updated Policy where permitted by law.
